So you built yourself a home theater with a large screen that can rival that of the local cinema. You have speakers, DVD players, receivers, and amplifiers. You even have a computerized system for playing all your DVDs. But after focusing on the electronics, you should think about the next important thing. Comfortable seats! You can opt for connected chairs, much like the ones in the cinemas or you can have individual seats. These chairs should be cushioned and cozy. Of course, they should also be easy to clean. You should not forget that soda spills and food crumbs are parts of a cinematic experience.

Having an attic can be both wonderful and expensive. Heating and cooling expenses for attics can get very high. Attics can get extremely hot because of their location. You can remedy this by installing air conditioning units. Of course, air conditioning units mean more expenses. For a more cost-effective attic, you can always use ceiling fans. You can also choose to install windows on some parts of the roof for perfect ventilation. Windows will make your attic breezy that having ACs will no longer be necessary. Insulation foam under the roof and in the walls can also help you have a cost-effective ceiling.

Your foyer is where you dump your things the first moment that you enter your house. This is also where you hang your coat and keys. You can always buy a coat and key rack for your foyer but his is incredibly easy to make. For a coat rack, you will simply need a piece of wood that is about three feet by half a foot, several hooks, and a screws for bolting the rack to the wall. Assembly is easy because coat racks look rather simple. If you want to be more creative, you can use doorknobs or doll limbs instead of hooks.

1.Placing the plasma TV way above fireplace – You can do this if you want neck pains.
2.Too many flowers – Avoid floral tiles with floral wall papers and floral curtains.
3.Popcorn ceilings – Sure these make for good acoustics but they are just plain ugly. You can have good acoustics in your house even without the ugly ceiling.
4.Hanging kitchen cabinets too close to the work zone – Preparing food is just no fun if your head is too close to the cabinet and you can barely see what you’re doing.

Your foyer is the first part of your home’s interior that visitors see. In some houses, an entry way contains nothing but a small hallway table for storing keys and mail. There may be several hooks for coats and a cylindrical wicker basket for umbrellas, too. Other houses, though, have foyers so grand that they can rival the most luxurious lobbies of five-star hotels. I am talking about beautiful marble floors and majestic lighting. Some even have a chandelier. How about you? What does your entry way look like? Is it family-friendly or visitor-worthy?

The attic stairs are probably the least used stairs in your house. Unless there is a room in the attic where there is a permanent guest, it is safe to say that your attic stairs have not been used since the day you went to the attic to fix a leak. Because of their infrequent use, we hardly ever know when they are already broken. To prevent serious accidents, you should check your attic stairs frequently. One test of its strength is to see if the bolts are tight. You should also try standing on it and see if it moves under your weight. If it feels loose, it is time to replace some parts or to replace it entirely. This may seem like waste of money but you cannot put a price on safety.

A window seat is a perfect space-saving technique. If you have a window seat, sitting and socializing will not be delegated mainly to places of your house where there are actual chairs. Moreover, a window seat is often constructed with storage space underneath. This space can be a perfect place to store toys, books, and seasonal clothing. Of course, nothing beats the fact that you can enjoy a view from a window seat. Not only is a window seat perfect for an intimate conversation or a quiet time alone, it is also a great spot for gazing out the yard or the garden.

Usually, homes in northern states where there is a lot of snow have a mudroom. This is where residents shed their winter outdoor clothes before entering the main hallway of the house. But if you live in warm places, you can probably use a mudroom, too. Mudrooms are not just for housing heavy outdoor clothing. They can also be used to store sports gear, outdoor equipment, and other things you may need when you go outside. A mudroom can make your entry way organized. Of course, you don’t really need an actual room to have a mudroom. Even a recession on the wall near the door can be a perfect spot for storing boots, coats, umbrella, rain boots, and others.

Home makeover shows such as Extreme Makeovers always transform boring and plain rooms into theme rooms. So if the owner of the room loves the beach, he or she will get a beach-themed room. I have to admit that these kinds of rooms are very creative but I think that they will become boring after a while. What if the owner is no longer into the surfing lifestyle? Wouldn’t it be better to just give the owner a clean and classy room that has no obvious theme? Even if I were a surfer, I’d still love a room that has no theme. What do you think?
